Bought this Stronglight 36T to replace 34T Tiagra chain ring. This ring is OK and does the job.
However I also replaced a Shimano 50T with a 52T Stronglight chainring and herein lies a problem... The Shimano 50T is slightly dished outwards and the replacement Stronglight is flat. Subsequently when using the small front 36T chainring in a higher (smaller) gear on the rear cassette the chain clashes on the 52T chainring because it is flat and not dished outwards like the original Shimano ring.
The two higher gears on the rear cassette cannot be used when the smaller 36T chainring is engaged. Ideally the 52T should be dished like the Shimano to eradicate this problem.
Fortunately I live in Norfolk with very few hills so won't be using the 36T that much.
If you rely on a 36T while using all gears on the rear cassette this chain clashing will be a problem.
